How gateway eligibility is calculated
- Minimum 12-month duration — active learning time only; break weeks are excluded from the count.
- Planned end date — start date + programme duration in months + break weeks.
- Earliest gateway date — the later of: (a) 12 months after start date (excluding breaks), or (b) the planned end date minus the EPAO's required notice period.
- EPA booking deadline — earliest gateway date minus EPAO notice period.
- If a learner takes additional unplanned breaks, recalculate — all dates shift by the additional break duration.
