Train every worker on the right SOP — and prove it.

A new allergen procedure affects specific people, on specific lines, on specific shifts, many of whom read English as a second language. TIQPlus works out who those people are, generates the training from the SOP itself, delivers it in the languages your crews actually use, and holds the supervisor competency check and audit trail behind it.

For BRCGS, SALSA and retailer-audited sites, from single plants to multi-site groups

The mechanism

One document revision, followed all the way to evidence.

This is the sequence that usually breaks down into a verbal briefing at handover. Making each step a recorded event is what turns a change in your document system into something you can put in front of an auditor months later.

Allergen SOP · revision 4.2

  1. Trigger New allergen SOP published in document control
  2. Scope Mapped to mixing, packing and CIP on lines 2 and 4
  3. People 127 operators identified across three shifts
  4. Training Module and knowledge check generated from the revision
  5. Delivery Issued in English, Polish and Romanian
  6. Competence Supervisor observation recorded per operator
  7. Evidence Audit trail: who, what version, when, verified by whom

The problem

Why training records fail an audit the plant would pass

The site is running correctly. It is the evidence that it is running correctly that comes apart.

1

The SOP changes; the training does not follow it.

Specs, work instructions and sanitation procedures are revised constantly. The revision lands in the document system and the retraining happens as a verbal brief at handover. Months later nobody can say which version each operator was trained against.

The risk: a training record pointing at a superseded document.
2

Audits ask about named individuals, not departments.

BRCGS, SALSA and retailer audits expect documented training with records for the personnel performing each task. A sign-in sheet carrying a dozen signatures does not answer the question of whether this operator was trained on this version.

The risk: a non-conformance on something you were doing correctly.
3

A multilingual, high-turnover floor.

Agency workers, seasonal peaks and shift transfers put people onto a line quickly, and English is not the first language for a large part of many UK food workforces. Training designed for an office rollout stalls partway through the crew and gets chased by hand.

The risk: an operator on a critical control point who did not follow the training.
4

A hygiene certificate is a floor, not the obligation.

Food law requires food handlers to be supervised and instructed or trained in food hygiene matters appropriate to their work. A generic Level 2 certificate in a folder does not evidence that a named operator was trained on your procedure for their task.

The risk: certificates on file that do not match the work being done.

How it works

How TIQPlus handles it

The mapping in step one is what makes a document revision actionable instead of informational.

Map documents to lines, shifts and roles

Define which SOPs, work instructions, CCPs and prerequisite programmes apply to each role, line and shift. That mapping is the thing that lets a revision find its own audience.

Revise the SOP, generate the training, assign it

TIQPlus builds the module and knowledge check from the new version and assigns it to everyone mapped to that process, with a due date — one allergen SOP resolving to the operators on the affected lines rather than to the whole site.

Deliver on the floor, in the right language

Short mobile or kiosk modules that a crew can complete at handover, available in more than one language, with completion reported centrally regardless of which version someone took.

Add the supervisor competency check

A knowledge check evidences understanding; a supervisor observation evidences that the person can do the job. Both attach to the same record, against the document version they relate to.

The record

What the audit trail contains

Enough to answer a version-specific question about a named operator on a named date.

Record What it holds
Document version Which revision of an SOP or work instruction each person was trained against, with the effective date of that revision.
Personnel by task Who is trained for each task, line and shift, and who is not yet cleared to perform it.
Retraining after change The full list of people reassigned when a document changed, with completion status and the outstanding names.
Prerequisite programmes Hygiene, allergen control, foreign body, chemical control, pest awareness, glass and hard plastic, and cleaning, on their refresh cycles.
HACCP and food safety team Training for HACCP team members and for personnel monitoring critical control points, held against a role-level requirement.
Supervisor verification The observation that confirms competence, with the observer, the date and the outcome.
Agency and contractor induction Induction records for agency and short-tenure workers, retained on the same terms as permanent employees.

Who uses it

Who uses it

Technical & Quality Managers

Close the loop between document control and training, and see at any moment which revisions still carry outstanding retraining.

  • Open retraining by document and revision
  • Task-level qualification per operator
  • Audit export filtered by line, date or document

Production & Shift Managers

Know which operators on tonight's crew are cleared for the tasks the plan assigns them.

  • Shift roster with task clearance
  • Handover-length modules on a shared kiosk
  • Immediate visibility when someone is not cleared

Site HR and H&S

Induct permanent, seasonal and agency staff to the same standard, and keep the record for all of them.

  • One induction path regardless of employment type
  • Multi-language delivery with unified reporting
  • Records retained after a temporary worker leaves

Underneath

One platform, configured for your sector

The requirement sets, evidence types and reporting above are configuration, not a separate product. The same platform runs learner, manager, admin and HR portals, generates training from your own documents, and exports the records you need.

FAQ

Questions we get from technical and quality teams

Can it generate training from our existing SOPs?

Yes. Upload the SOP, work instruction or spec and TIQPlus generates a structured module with knowledge checks from it. Your technical team reviews and edits before it publishes, so the content stays yours.

How does it know who to retrain when a document changes?

Each document is mapped to the roles, lines and tasks it governs. When you publish a new version, everyone in that mapping is reassigned, and the earlier completion is retained against the superseded version rather than overwritten.

Which languages do you support on the floor?

Modules can be produced in more than one language to match your workforce, and completion tracks per person regardless of which language version they took.

Will this satisfy a BRCGS or SALSA auditor?

TIQPlus produces the training records those schemes look for: role-based requirements, individual completion evidence, refresher cycles, competency verification and retraining after change. The scheme certifies your site rather than the software, but the record-keeping is what this is built to carry.

Does it replace our document control system?

No. Your document system stays the source of truth for the document. TIQPlus takes the current version, turns it into training, and tracks who was trained against which version.

Take one revised SOP and follow it through

Bring a document you revised recently. We will map it to the roles and lines it governs, generate the module from it, and show you the retraining list and the audit export it produces.

  • Map one SOP to roles, lines and shifts
  • Generate the module from the current revision
  • See the reassignment list a version change produces
  • Review the export an auditor would receive
